  • This is a sketch I did for my children's book I am writing. It's a gift for my 3 year old son. The story is finished. I just need to figure out what the art will look like.

I love it I can't wait to see more on it.

I'd love to make a dog book or dog comic or something sometime in the future..

    I love to draw.. :D

  • A friend drew a little sketch of Ponta which my wife and I consider really cute. I made a font with a few different variations:

    image

It was actually a tiny little image at first, just 1cm across...

I am hoping to find time to import some photos of Ponta into a font editor and making a full-blown dingbat font...

Awww! That is a cute sketch. :)

I love doing cute silly sketches much easier then detailed art.

I can fill a page of random stuff sketches of saya, Bella, dragons, and all kinds fun stuff. hehe

I'm so glad so many have posted some nice artwork here. :)

It took me a LOT longer than I had hoped, and I'm not fully satisfied with the end result. I like it, but I could have fiddled with it forever!

    Untitled

The picture isn't great, but you can click on it to go to my flickr account and it's easier to see there. each one of the sections is a different orange/red/tan, white and black pattern. I'm no expert in illustrator and I do it all with a mouse. I know my professional friends would just roll their eyes if they knew was my technique!

Let me know what you think!

P.S. Jive Honkey is one of my personal nick names. Slightly silly, slightly offensive. That about covers it.

Not a shiba, but Zorua is my favorite B&W pokemon. photo Azorua4_zps85fe9b56.jpg

    Saya under the blossoming tree..
    photo 0asaya_zpsa3aa3750.jpg

The original drawing I did it on paint. If I had a tablet bamboo thingy I'd draw much better I prefer drawing with pen, pencil or color pencil then a mouse. haha
    photo shibagirl2_zpsdb09cc73.png

Not really artwork that I drew I just cut and pasted picture of a boar I found on internet and picture of Saya playing with Bella.. I thought Saya's look is fitting it looks like she is ready to go for the kill.

I should made Saya bit smaller in size.. maybe the boar is a young boar.. haha

    That is so adorable. :)

Here's a sketch I did of Saya not I like the head and body kinda messed up with the paw, but it was a pen so couldn't fix it easily. I'll try again with pencil next time.

  • On one of the social networks I'm on I been following an artist who specialises in animals for some time now and bought a lot of artwork from her. She asked for donations to get to a exhibition her artwork was in and as a reward she'd do a portrait of your pets. I donated and got a portrait of Kuma as a puppy done. Here's the original and the finished portrait. Last time I checked she would take requests for most things and has an Etsy store where you can buy plushies, animal portraits and sculptures.

I was recently inspired by Konatsuya and Gamera so I sketched this out:
    image
Gonna print out a few versions to work on the colour, me thinks.

Then there was also this (I like to design simplistic logos of my pets)

    Again, a rough draft.

Awww!! @tobyshiba, I love your colorful style. The expressions and movement are great! All the artwork on this thread is very cute!! I guess I'll share some, too.

I love the artwork, guys! I think it's great to see the personality in each piece/shiba!
  • Shiba string art.

The outline can be the color you choose.
The name can be added or any saying you'd prefer. Also choose your own color.

It's a rough draft, but can be tweaked.

    12x12x1

Wood can also be painted any color you choose.

I totally didn't know this thread existed! Although I don't have an artistic bone in me, I have one girl who I commission to draw my pups all the time since she's INSANELY talented. Her account is @ifeellikedancin on instagram and her portfolio is here. If you ever commission her, let her know Melissa/@k9chronicles sent ya ;) I have a couple more that I'm waiting on, but here's what I've got from her so far!(:

    i drew my shiba, Buddy.

When he was little he used to steal our socks (which were the same size as him) and run around so proudly with his new "toy"
  • Not entirely shiba, but I made a fictional character that was part shiba, part salamander. :)

At the end of each year, I do a New Year Card for my students, close friends and family. This year is no different, but instead of a digital piece--I did a watercolor piece of myself, my husband, and my dog, Coal. I think the biggest challenge was getting a descent picture--and even then, my printer sucks. So without further ado, here it is: Year of the Dog!
