I've been looking out for another dog for the past 3 months
    and I finally found her.
Fortunately, she and toki are getting along better than I thought
barking but no real fights and they immediately stop when I walk into view
    Hopefully they become friends

Anyway, her original name is Gigi, which I hate
so i need different names that still sound like Gigi so she'll still respond
(i was thinking evie but not sure if she looks like an evie)
    any ideas?

Honestly you can change a dogs name to anything. Say it enough times with treats and praise and they will figure it out. I have rescued senior dogs and taught them what ever name I chose.

some names/words that rhyme with or sound like gigi:

keiji, luigi, fiji, ichi, bebe, didi, fifi, gisi, kiki, kiwi, mimi.

Just a few if any find to your liking!
  • awwwwwww, good luck with naming her. I wish I could help, but I had enough trouble naming my own shiba, lol. she's "beautiful" about BELLA? hahha

Haha we had a lot of trouble settling on a name for ours, too. And after many days...we settled on Evie. :) So I think it's a solid name.

Other names we thought of and/or suggestions:

I agree with being able to re-name a dog, although choosing something similar to her old name may make things easier. Regardless, I think Evie suits her beautifully :]

I don't even think Gigi was her real name as she doesn't repond to it much
but I'm liking evie more (sorry to steal your pup's name Hana).
Thanks for all the names I liked sachi and kiwi too.
Now just gotta work on training her.
Hopefully her vet trip goes well. They think she was used as a breeder from a puppy mill that got shut down last year. I hope it didn't create any long lasting problems.

I originally named my puppy Jibo but after thinking about it more I have come to not like it as much. :/

I have 3 that I really love and I just cannot decide which one, so I was wondering if maybe some of you could give me your take on them.

    Koji - generous/tolerant
Taro - sun, bubble tea flavour
    Tomo - wisdom/intellect

    mmmmmmm... Taro bubble tea.

I like Taro, because it's sweet, yummy, and purple. And it sounds very masculine. Second Koji - there are already a few Koji's on this forum so Taro is a bit more original. That's my opinion on your name options!

  • I'm also voting for Taro, because it's delicious both cooked with ground pork, and as a bubble tea flavour, lol.
  • I like Taro! It is definitely unique.

Aw, Jibo was a cute / unique name! Out of that list, though, I like Tomo.

After reading your guys comments I finalized that Taro was a good name.. just not for him though. I tried calling him Taro throughout the day and kept slipping, accidentally calling him Jibo. By the end of the day I have finally decided that I would resort back to Jibo. It had stuck with me and my family was all telling me to keep his original name as well!

Thank you all on your input :) It definitely did help me though.
