Any Shiba Rescues in the midwest area?

Was just wondering if there were any shiba rescues in the midwest area. Would really like it to be as close to kansas as possible if there is one. We would really like to adopt a shiba sister for flint if we had the chance rather than going to a breeder. And no stupid pet shops!

I'll keep an ear out for pups in the area! Check your craigslist too, even though they're usual breeders asking "rehoming fees". Sometimes a resuce or foster parent puts an ad up for a genuine adoption.

    amen to that.
  • There's as well as mentioned above.

You might contact them to see if there are any available Shibas in Kansas.

Just wanted to throw this out there to anyone near Kansas that might be interested in rescuing a shiba. Sadly, the description says she will be euthanized soon. There is an adult female Shiba mix available at

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
    Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
    Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shara is a good dog, but she does not get along with our other female dog, a Jack Russell Terrier. She has been very aggressive towards her and, we are being forced to get rid of her. She will be euthanized if we can not find her a home soon. We have another male dog that she gets along great with. She is good with kids and has shown no aggression towards anyone else. She has been around our twin boys since they were infants. They climb all over her and she is very tolerant. Thank you.
