Sorry for starting a new thread, but I didn't know where to throw this one.

What does your dog do that makes you burst out laughing each time he/she does it, or something that seems so ridiculous it can reside only in a doggie mind?

For example, I have been teaching Sabi to sit and wait until I / company walk in and out of doors, to prevent bolting, as well as when we reach a major intersection on our walks. For the last two days, whenever we reach a barrier of any sort (set of stairs, different-colored pavement, etc.) he immediately plops his butt on the ground and WILL NOT MOVE until I give the release command 'OK!'

    Seriously gets me every time.

    That sounds very cute.=)

Saya initiates play with Bella in many ways my favorite way is when she runs up to Bella and bites her on her leg and then runs away hoping Bella will chase her.Nicole, Bella(Boxer), and Saya(Shiba inu)

That's great that Sabi sits and waits for the OK command! Plopping his butt on the ground when he sees a barrier is so cute. He totally understands his boundaries. Smart little fella :)

I love how MoJo sighs. He does it when he has to lay down and STAY or if he's running around like a nut and we make him chill. Then he sighs like OH CRAP, I'm bored now!

When Mylo gets bored he'll sit in front of you and stare at you like "ahem. AAAhem!" and if you still ignore him he'll take his paw up and poke you. I purposely ignore him now cuz I think it's hilarious! lol I guess you kinda have to see it.

Also, we have wood floors and when we put Mylo in a sit-stay, his bum slides out from under him. It's really cute.Cheers, Kyla and Mylo (shiba)

Sabi's butt slides on my wood floor too! It's excellent!

Whenever he wants my attention, he YAWNS - I'm not kidding - hilarious! Also, during the Shiba 500, he has a preplanned route that he follows. When I'm sitting in a path that intersects it, he always leaps into my lap for a pitstop, then, of course, obediently waits for the "OK" to launch into another lap.

Godric contorts his body into unnatural poses, that we have dubbed "Shiba Yoga." Too cute!

Sookie, our newest addition, LOVES to play and she will toss toys up in the air and run after them, sometimes missing them completely. She is a little ball of energy compared to Godric, but I think she's good for him =)

We love when Saru does Shiba Circles on our bed. It's too funny to see him spinning and spinning. We also find it pretty funny when he's watching out our front window and he starts this whinning, growling, huffy bark. We can't help but giggle.

Kyla, Bella does the exact same thing that Mylo does. She will come and sit in front of you and just stare you down. If you ignore her, she paws at you as if to say, "Pay attention to ME!"

If Nola is sitting or lying on the floor and you walk up to her and stare down at her, she automatically rolls on her belly and paws at the air... I just know she is saying, "RUB MY BELLY, SLAVE!"

Both of them crack me up in the car... They will both be out like a light until I have to stop for something (stoplight, stopsign, slowing car, whatever)... Then they both jump up, look out the window and bark. It is almost like they are saying, "Are we there yet?" And Nola has a problem with roadside memorials. If we have to stop beside one (like on the way to my mum's there is one at the end of an off ramp where we generally have to wait a few minutes for cars to stop so we can cross the highway), she barks her little head off... Not sure why. Maybe she knows someone died there. And if you have ever heard Nola bark... that makes it even funnier!Casey with Bella (shiba) and Nola (shiba) hanging out in the mountains of Virginia.

Kitsune is more of the comedian in our house. She seems to do most of what has been posted. Included in her sillyness she likes to stand between our legs and have her butt rubbed and while you are doing that she will wiggle from side to side with her nose in the air. One way for her to get Jack's attention when he is sitting in his reclining chair with his legs crossed, is to nudge his foot so that she can jump on his lap. Also at bedtime after I pull down the covers before we get into bed she likes "claim my pillow" by laying down on it and I have to ask her to leave which she dislikes very much because she sometimes snarls at me.

Kuma has a personality of his own. In the morning when we let him out of his crate, he either zooms between our legs or jumps on the bed to make a b-line for the kitchen where sits and waits until we put down his food bowl. Sometimes Kitsune is also waiting in front of Kuma's crate to play with him, so he has to plow through her also since he has a one track mind which is to eat and go out. When we are preparing to go for out for a walk, he will go to the door, pace in circles and stretch several times before we can put on his harness and after his harness is on he will sit and wait until you open the door.

Mylo says .. "When Mylo gets bored he'll sit in front of you and stare at you like "ahem. AAAhem!" and if you still ignore him he'll take his paw up and poke you."

Absolutely identical behavior with Koji, and lately, more than ever.

My black lab Merlin loves to have the last word. About anything. If you talk to him he'll talk right back. Eventually it turns into a huff, sneeze or yawn just to make sure he makes the last sound. He also makes silly puppy bark sounds when he is dreaming. He's a big boy and has a rather thunderous real bark but when he is sleeping it's a baby bark like a little pup with some growling that seems to echo in his crate. lol I've tried to video it but whenever I get up to get the camera he wakes up. He also is pretty sensitive to curse words. If you swear he'll come right over and put his head in your lap or lean on you staring at you and won't let you do anything until he thinks you're alright. lol

Ki is a complete dork. He will follow Jericho (the cat) around until Jeri gets frustrated and bats at him...then Ki runs away as if he has successfully initiated the chase game even though Jeri just looks at him like he's crazy whilst Ki spends the next few minutes making daring drift turns and running for his life. During his nascar routine he sometimes jumps on the bed and does shiba circles even though he knows he's not supposed to be up there (just another way to make sure he's chased) and rebounds off the couch so hard that it rocks back and hits the wall (and this is not a light/small couch).

When he sleep barks he usually has his mouth closed so he just makes weird beep noises.

If you look at him, he assumes it is because you love him and makes his big dumb grin face...which makes it very difficult to ever be mad at him.

He gets so excited about walks but knows he has to sit and wait for his leash so he does his omg happy spin and then sits...and then OMG SPIN...sit! And then will scoot towards you an inch and sit...repeating the process until the leash is on or he's right on top of you but sitting 'politely' so he can go outside.

He also tends to fall asleep tangled up in the vertical blinds because he likes keeping watch. My friend and e-friends call me Rainy and my dog is Kitsune the ginormous shibamutt. Typing with Paws

OMG Rainy, Mylo does the same thing with the spins before walks! I don't know about kitsune, but Mylo jumps and does a 180, whipping his butt out to the side and then grins. =0) We've trained him to do it on command now lol.Cheers, Kyla and Mylo (shiba)

Saya hates having food on top of her blankets in her crate if she is not hungry which she picks the blankets up and covers the treats when I come back the blankets are pushed to one side and she has no blankets to lay on..

Saya also loves to shiba hug If I'm kneeling down and say shiba hug she'll walk up to me put her head in between my legs and just stand there waiting for me to pet her and message her she'll also do it on the bed and if I'm just standing next to it.

She loves to dig on certain blankets and on my fleece sweaters and now if I say dig to Japan and she is on that blanket or next to me with my sweater she'll start digging. She'll even run inside my sweater and start digging it's pretty hilarious luckily those places are the only think she digs in she never digs in the yard, but as a pup she did try to dig on the couch pillows, but I stopped that by telling her no and giving her blanket to dig on.. LOLNicole, Bella(Boxer), and Saya(Shiba inu)

T does "barky tail". His tail starts going all crazy, then he looks at us kind of sideways with the whites of his eyes showing, then he gets all excited and starts making loud noises. Not really barking, he doesn't bark often. It's more like his version of talking.

These have been fun to read!

My favorite thing with Bel is something she used to do as a pup, but now, at nearly 5, she only does occasionally. She chases her tail, and when she catches it, she bites it. Hard. Which startles her.

Toby does something I'm sure your Shibas do too, since i've heard other Shiba people talk about it. He makes a comma. Maybe it's because I'm an english teacher that I call it that, but when I come home and he is so happy, he curls his body around so it looks like a comma. I was delighted to see another writer who had a shiba call it that....

But what is more funny is that my German husband mispronounces it every time, and calls it making a "coma" which, is, of course, a very different thing.... :)My life revolves around two Shibas and an American Akita puppy
